Precious metals prices dropped on Tuesday as traders piled into strategic bets on energy and the dollar, capitalising on surging oil and gas prices driven by the Iran war. Gold shed more than four percent to around $5,075 an ounce, while silver plunged more than 12 percent to just under $78 an ounce.
