Agribank clarifies position on farmland auctions

WINDHOEK, 06 AUG (NAMPA) – Agribank CEO Dr Raphael Karuaihe has explained that Agribank’s immediate role is to empower farmers by providing financial support and not to repossess land.
This comes after claims that Agribank is targeting farms owned by previously disadvantaged Namibians for auction.
In a media release issued on Wednesday, Karuaihe said auctioning farmland is a last resort and not part of Agribank’s development mandate.
