WINDHOEK, 03 JUN (NAMPA) – Project Never Walk Alone (NWA) has launched a fundraising and awareness campaign aimed at raising N.dollars 4 million to provide shoes to vulnerable children in four regions.

The Ama2000 Campaign was launched during the annual Never Walk Alone fundraising gala dinner held in Windhoek on Saturday.

It will run from 01 June to 02 August 2026.

According to a statement issued by the organisation on Wednesday, the campaign seeks to encourage 2 000 Namibians to each contribute N.dollars 2 000 towards the initiative.

The funds raised will be used to distribute 10 000 pairs of shoes in the Oshana, Omusati, Otjozondjupa and ||Kharas regions this year, with each region expected to receive 2 500 pairs.

The initiative forms part of the project’s three-year plan announced earlier this year.

NWA said the campaign aims to give individuals an opportunity to contribute towards improving the lives of vulnerable children.

Speaking at the launch, NWA Ambassador Rebekka Nghilalulwa said the campaign seeks to restore dignity to children in need.

“This campaign is far more than just leather and soles. It is about restoring dignity,” she said.

Nghilalulwa added that the initiative was intended to show vulnerable children that they are valued and supported.

“It is our way of whispering to every vulnerable child: you matter, you are seen and you will never walk alone,” she said.

She further called on Namibians to support the campaign.

“We have exactly 60 days to change 10 000 lives. Let us prove that when Namibians stand together, no child will be left behind,” Nghilalulwa said.

According to the statement, contributors to the campaign will be entered into a draw for various prizes, including cash, holiday and shopping vouchers.

NWA said it would publish a full report on all contributions received at the conclusion of the campaign.
