Merz appeals to Spain over NATO defence spending target

Washington (dpa) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has called on Spain to increase its defence spending. Merz said during a meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington on Tuesday that they are trying to convince Spain to adhere to the NATO-agreed guidelines for defence spending.
