German court orders government to strengthen climate measures

Leipzig, Germany (dpa) - Germany must strengthen the measures in its 2023 programme to mitigate climate change, the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig ruled on Thursday. The Leipzig-based court upheld an earlier ruling by the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court, which said the measures listed by the government so far would not ensure Germany's compliance with its climate targets.
