German President Steinmeier to attend Olympic opening ceremony

Berlin (dpa) - German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will attend next week's opening ceremony of the Milan/Cortina Winter Olympics and the first two days of competition. The presidential office said on Wednesday that Steinmeier will travel to Italy on February 6, with the main opening ceremony in Milan's San Siro stadium scheduled for the evening.
