The US Federal Reserve kicked off its rate meeting Tuesday, with policymakers likely to back a quarter-point cut, despite a lack of available data due to the ongoing government shutdown. The meeting began at 9:00 am local time in Washington (1300 GMT), the Fed said in a statement. The decision will be published at 2:00 pm Wednesday, following two days of debate.
