The central bank of France on Tuesday sharply lowered its forecast for the country's GDP growth this year, saying economic activity proved "less resilient than expected" in early 2026. French economic growth will likely be just 0.5 percent this year, instead of the 0.9 percent previously forecast, the Banque de France said.
