Over 700 migrants cross Channel in largest single-day total this year

London (PA Media/dpa) - More than 700 people crossed the English Channel in small boats bound for the UK on Monday, the latest figures have revealed. There were 710 people thought to be migrants who arrived in the UK on Monday, the highest number on a single day so far this year. No crossings had been made between June 1 and June 14.
