More than 50% of German adults are overweight, new figures show

Frankfurt (dpa) - More than half of German adults are overweight, according to official figures released on Tuesday, with men particularly affected. Some 53% of adults aged 18 or older surveyed in 2025 had a body mass index (BMI) of over 25, the Federal Statistical Office said. The World Health Organization considers adults to be overweight if they have a BMI greater than or equal to 25. A total of 17.9% of those surveyed were classified as obes......
