Germany sees lowest level of rubbish since 2009

Frankfurt (dpa) - Germans threw away less waste in 2024, with the total volume falling to its lowest level since 2009, the country's Federal Statistical Office reported on Monday. Preliminary results show that 362.7 million tons of waste were generated - 4.6% less than in the previous year. By way of comparison, the highest figure to date was recorded in 2018 at 417.2 million tons, and the lowest in 2009 at 359.4 million tons. The statisticians......
