The UN Group of Human Rights Experts on Nicaragua on Monday condemned the death of Indigenous leader Brooklyn Rivera in prison, and demanded an independent investigation. Nicaragua's health ministry said Sunday that Rivera, 73, had died from health complications, after nearly three years in detention.
