US DHS Proposes Raising Fines for Certain Illegal Migrants to $18,000

WASHINGTON, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intends to increase fines for certain groups of illegal immigrants to $18,000, according to a notice from the department posted in the Federal Register. "DHS is proposing to update the fee required by section 100016 of the Budget Reconciliation Act (known as the HR-1). This fee applies to certain aliens ordered removed in absentia who fail to depart the United States......
