Germany begins second nuclear waste shipment to Ahaus

Berlin (dpa) - A second shipment of highly radioactive nuclear waste left Germany's most populous state, North Rhine-Westphalia, late on Tuesday for an interim storage facility in Ahaus, a police spokeswoman said. The convoy, bound for the site about 170 kilometres away in the Muensterland region, follows a first transport along the same route four weeks ago that took around four hours.
