Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has invited Spain's King Felipe VI to attend the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the royal palace said Wednesday. The invitation comes after the king on Monday acknowledged that abuses were committed during Spain's conquest of the Americas, addressing Mexico's longstanding historical grievances.
