A 53-year-old man convicted of killing a police officer after snatching his gun was executed by lethal injection in the southern US state of Florida on Tuesday. Billy Kearse was pronounced dead at 6:24 pm (2324 GMT) at the state prison in Raiford, the Florida Department of Corrections said.
