South Korean stocks plunged more than five percent Tuesday as turmoil in the Middle East unsettled global markets. The benchmark Kospi index shed 5.2 percent to 5,922.30 in afternoon trading as investors returned from a long weekend to play catch-up with the previous day's losses worldwide.
