A man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend is to be put to death by lethal injection in Texas on Wednesday in the first execution in the United States this year. Charles Thompson, 55, is scheduled to be executed at 6:00 pm Central Time (0000 GMT) at a state prison in Huntsville.
