Hospital staff on strike in Germany as wage dispute escalates

Berlin (dpa) - University hospitals in Germany were hit by strikes on Tuesday in the latest round of industrial action over a public sector wage dispute. A spokesman for the Verdi trade union said 22 hospitals are affected, with strikes and protests taking place in many cities.
