Spain has expelled Nicaragua's ambassador to Madrid in a tit-for-tat move against the government in Managua, foreign ministry sources said on Monday, in another blow to already tense relations. Spain decided to expel the Central American country's envoy and "another accredited diplomat" on Sunday "in strict reciprocity for the unjust expulsion of Spain's ambassador and deputy chief of mission in Nicaragua", the sources said.
