Government freezes public sector hiring for five months

WINDHOEK, 16 OCT (NAMPA) – The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has announced an immediate freeze on all recruitment within the public sector for the next five months, with exemptions made only for medical personnel and educators.
The decision, which took effect immediately, was approved by the Cabinet during its meeting on 07 October 2025.
