Sudanese Special Envoy meets with Nandi-Ndaitwah, discusses Agenda 2063

WINDHOEK, 24 JUL (NAMPA) – Special Envoy and Vice President of Sudan, Malik Agar Nganyoufa Eyre, paid President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah a courtesy visit at State House on Tuesday.
In her remarks, Nandi-Ndaitwah addressed Africa’s challenges in achieving Agenda 2063, the African Union’s strategic framework for socio-economic transformation.
She noted that while progress is being made, the goal of “silencing the guns” within the first 10 years of the agenda has been slow.
“We are making progress with the implementation of the agenda, but we have a challenge with the silencing of the guns in our first 10 years. Unfortunately we are moving very slow, we still believe we have a chance to reach that stage when we silence the guns in our continent,” she said.
Nandi-Ndaitwah also stressed the importance of socio-economic transformation for a prosperous and integrated African continent, as outlined in Agenda 2063 and its implementation plan.
The Special Envoy congratulated Nandi-Ndaitwah on her inauguration as Namibia’s fifth president.
He also provided President Nandi-Ndaitwah with an update on recent developments in Sudan, followed by a closed-door meeting.
Agar’s one-day visit to Namibia further included a visit to Heroes Acre.
