British police said Tuesday they had not found explosives in vans seen acting suspiciously near a military airbase used by the US, but had discovered a "quantity of petrol". "We can confirm that no improvised explosive devices were found. However, a quantity of petrol was recovered," counter-terror police said in an update on the investigation at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Fairford base in southwest England, which is used by the US military.
