Nike loan for new women's Bundesliga

Frankfurt (dpa) - The German women's Bundesliga (FBL) can take out a loan of up to ?15 million (17.1 million) from sports goods makers Nike for its development as a separate entity from next year on. A letter seen by dpa from the FBL to the clubs said that Nike has offered a flexible loan with an interest rate of 1.5% which allows the women's Bundesliga "considerable financial leeway for their establishment and development phase."
