Belarus said Thursday it had pardoned 13 political prisoners as the Russia-allied country seeks US sanctions relief. The presidency did not name those pardoned of "extremist crimes" -- a term it uses for political prisoners. Belarus has released hundreds of political prisoners since last year and last week freed 25 more after the United States agreed to lift sanctions on two Belarusian companies.
