MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - Berlin authorities intend to withdraw their bid to host the 2036, 2040, or 2044 Summer Olympics, the Tagesspiegel newspaper reported. The possible reason for the withdrawal of the bid was the lack of a referendum on hosting the Olympics, which would have confirmed the support of residents of the German capital, the report said on Wednesday, adding that Berlin law does not provide for such a vote.
