MOSCOW, August 12 (RIA Novosti) - The European Union is using Operation IRINI (EUNAVFOR MED IRINI) as a screen for settling political scores and implementing unilateral coercive measures, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday. IRINI was launched in 2020 to control implementation of the UN arms embargo on Libya. The mission primarily operates in the Mediterranean Sea.
