Powerful 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Island of Kyushu in Japan - Meteorological Agency

MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake has hit the area of the Kumamoto prefecture on the Kyushu island in Japan, with a tsunami threat declared, the Japan Meteorological Agency said on Tuesday. Tremors were recorded around 16:27 local time (07:27 GMT)​​​. The epicenter was located at a depth of about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).  A tsunami warning has been issued for the coast of Ariake Bay and the Yatsushiro Sea. ...
