The US Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure hit a fresh three-year high in May, government data showed on Thursday, with elevated energy prices sparked by President Donald Trump's Iran war rippling through the economy. The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) prices index jumped 4.1 percent from a year ago, the Commerce Department said, up from 3.8 percent in April.
