MOSCOW, June 5 (RIA Novosti) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday said that the strategic goal of the European Union is to expand the bloc to accept the countries of the Western Balkans. "The goal has been the full membership [in the EU] of all the states of the Western Balkans region, because we are strategically interested in tying these states to us, to the European Union," Merz told a press conference following the EU-Western Balkans......
