Brazilian police said Monday they had removed an "explosive device" from the boardwalk of Copacabana beach, a tourist-heavy area where Colombian singer Shakira will perform a massive free concert on May 2. Local media reported the object was a stun-grenade -- a non-lethal device often used as crowd control, which emits a blinding flash and extremely loud bang to temporarily disorient people.
