Japan to Increase Personnel at US Central Command - Defense Minister

TOKYO, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Japan will increase the number of Self-Defense Forces personnel deployed to US Central Command, Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said on Friday. "They [new personnel] will be engaged in gathering information on the international situation and coordinating with representatives from approximately 40 countries, including the US, Australia, South Korea and the UK," the minister said at a press conference.
