Berlin (dpa) - The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) was celebrating its likely best ever result in a state election in western Germany on Sunday. Projections showed the party hitting 20% of the vote in the wine-producing state of Rhineland-Palatinate, more than double the 8.3% it received in the last election in 2021.
