UNITED NATIONS, March 18 (RIA Novosti) - The United Nations welcomes a pause in fighting between Afghanistan and Pakistan to mark the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr and hopes for its extension, UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said at press-briefing on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Afghanistan and Pakistan announced a temporary pause in fighting starting midnight to mark the the end of Ramadan. "That is a welcome development," Haq told reporters......
