Some 60 French-owned or -flagged commercial vessels are currently blocked in the Gulf, because of threats in the Strait of Hormuz related to the Iran war, a French shipping executive told AFP. Those ships have been told by the French navy "to get to safe shelter", said Laurent Martens, director general of Armateurs de France, an organisation representing French shipping companies.
