US producer prices climb more than expected in January

Washington (dpa-AFX) - US producer prices (PPI) rose by 0.5% in January, the US Labor Department reported on Friday - higher than the 0.3% economists were expecting. The January figure confirmed the department's preliminary report released last month. In December the department revised PPI downward to now show an 0.4% increase.
