Frankfurt (dpa) - German chemicals giant BASF has given a cautious assessment of its business prospects this year, after a fall in profits in 2025 as it pursues a major cost-cutting programme. The world's largest chemical firm said on Friday it was targeting earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) and special items of between ?6.2-7.0 billion ($7.3-8.3 billion) in 2026.
