Administration sector receives 7 per cent of budget

RUNDU, 26 FEB (NAMPA) – The administration sector received 7 per cent of the total budget allocations - an amount of N.dollars 6.1 billion for the financial year (FY) 2026/27, Minister of Finance Ericah Shafudah has said.
Shafudah made the statement in Parliament on Thursday during the tabling of the N.dollars 105.9 billion budget for FY 2026/27, which includes an operational budget of N.dollars 81.3 billion and N.dollars 6.5 billion allocated for State-funded developmental projects.
“The Ministry of Rural and Urban Development has been allocated a total of N.dollars 1.9 billion for the FY2026/27, of which N.dollars 744 million is a developmental budget,” Shafudah said.
The Office of the President gets N.dollars 1.2 billion for 2026/27 and N.dollars 3.7 billion over the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
The Office of the Prime Minister will receive N.dollars 535 million for the FY 2026/27 and N.dollars 1.5 billion over the MTEF.
Shafudah stated that the National Assembly will receive N.dollars 416 million and N.dollars 1.2 billion over the MTEF, while the Auditor General will receive N.dollars 133 million for 2026/27 and N.dollars 406 million over the MTEF.
The Ministry of International Relations and Trade is allocated N.dollars 1.4 billion for 2026/27 and N.dollars 4.3 billion over the MTEF, of which N.dollars 94 million is to cover the operations of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
“The National Council will receive N.dollars 134 million for the FY 2026/27 and N.dollars 409 million over the MTEF, while the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations will receive N.dollars 231 million for 2026/27 and N.dollars 705 million over the MTEF,” she noted.
Shafudah indicated that the Electoral Commission of Namibia will receive N.dollars 181 million for the FY2026/27 and N.dollars 553 million over the MTEF.
