Uruguay on Thursday became the first country to ratify a mammoth trade deal with the European Union, which also includes Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Uruguay's lower house of parliament approved the deal, which has been fiercely opposed by farmers in some EU countries, following its approval by the Senate.
