Syria's Financial Watchdog Uncovers Embezzlement of About $520,000 in Oil Sector - Reports

BEIRUT, January 29 (RIA Novosti) - The Syrian Central Organization for Financial Control has uncovered a scheme to embezzle over 6 billion Syrian pounds (about $520,000) in projects run by the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) under the previous government, Syrian state news agency SANA reported. The financial irregularities relate to price and specification manipulation in a contract to supply generators for drilling rigs in the oil fields in Homs......
