UPS to cut additional 30,000 jobs this year

NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- United Parcel Service (UPS) announced Tuesday it will cut an additional 30,000 operational jobs this year as part of winding down its partnership with Amazon and a multiyear turnaround plan. "In terms of variable costs, we expect to reduce operational positions by up to 30,000," Chief Financial Officer Brian Dykes told a conference call with analysts.
