Hoeness suggests Slot lured Wirtz to Liverpool with false promises

Munich (dpa) - Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has expressed sympathy with Florian Wirtz over his difficult start at Liverpool and suggested coach Arne Slot lured him to Anfield with false promises. Bayern wanted Wirtz in summer but the German international playmaker eventually left Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool, reportedly based on a long meeting with Slot, where he is yet to score and has been criticised by English pundits.
