Syria Plans to Build New Refinery, Begins Offshore Gas Exploration - Energy Minister

BEIRUT, November 27 (RIA Novosti) - Syria has been exploring offshore gas fields and plans to build a new oil refinery with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad Bashir said on Thursday. "We are currently exploring offshore gas fields and continuing work on the construction of a new refinery with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day," the minister was quoted as saying by state-run Syrian broadcaster Al-Ikhbariya.......
