Berthold Haufiku appointed as Chief of Protocol

WINDHOEK, 01 NOV (NAMPA)- The Presidency has announced the appointment of Ambassador Berthold Haufiku as the new Chief of Protocol, effective 1 November 2025.
A statement issued on Saturday by Press Secretary Jonas Mbambo said Haufiku is a distinguished diplomat with over two decades of experience in international relations, bilateral cooperation, and multilateral engagement.
“He has served Namibia with dedication in various capacities within the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, as well as in diplomatic missions abroad,” the statement said.
As Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Haufiku will be responsible for advising the President and the Presidency on matters of protocol, ensuring the highest standards of diplomatic etiquette and coordination during official engagements, state visits and international events, Mbambo said.
