Germany clears path for undersea storage of carbon dioxide

Berlin (dpa) - The German government has cleared the way for the undersea storage of carbon dioxide (CO2). The Cabinet on Wednesday passed two bills that create the legal conditions for the use of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. This will allow CO2 to be captured and permanently stored under the seabed off the German coast.  Environment Minister Carsten Schneider said CCS could make a contribution to environmental protection effort......
