Froome stable in hospital but needs surgery following crash in France

London (PA Media/dpa) - Four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome is in stable condition awaiting surgery after a training accident left him with a fractured vertebrae, collapsed lung and five broken ribs. The British rider was on a training ride on Wednesday when the accident occurred and was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Toulon on the French Riviera.
