Tokyo stocks rise as worries relieved about U.S. tariff on Japan

TOKYO, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended higher Tuesday as concerns eased after the U.S. new tariff rate on Japan turned out to be just slightly higher than initially announced. Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended up 101.13 points, or 0.26 percent, from Monday at 39,688.81.
