Hamburg (dpa) - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for the defence and preservation of a united Europe at a commemoration ceremony in Hamburg on Saturday marking the liberation of concentration camps and the end of World War II. His comments come ahead of the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, and were made against the backdrop of Russia's war on Ukraine and growing autocratic tendencies worldwide.
