This photograph shows the building intended to house the European Customs Authority in Lille, northern France, on March 25, 2026. Lille is competing to host the headquarters of the future European Customs Authority alongside Rome, Warsaw, Zagreb, Bucharest, The Hague, as well as Liege, Porto and Malaga. The choice of location will be made on March 25, 2026 in several stages, the European Council stated in a press release at the end of February. Firstly, the Council and the European Parliament will each select two of the candidate cities, without consulting one another. If the same city is selected by both institutions, it will automatically be chosen. In the event of a disagreement, the Council and the Parliament will proceed to a vote to reach a consensus.
