(251023) -- PU'ER, Oct. 23, 2025 (Xinhua) -- Students create woodblock printing works at a teaching and practicing base of Jueban woodblock printing in Pu'er University, Pu'er City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, Oct. 22, 2025. Jueban woodblock printing technique originated from Pu'er City in the 1980s. Unlike traditional multi-color woodcuts, this technique uses a single wooden block to achieve multi-color printing. It builds up the image through a process of repeated cutting and printing on a single block, printing with a different color after each cutting layer by layer. Once the final color is printed, the block is destroyed and cannot be reused. Works created using this technique are rich in color and layer. Influenced by local diverse ethnic cultures, Jueban woodblock printing has become a vivid name card for Pu'er. (Xinhua/Zhou Jiayi)
